What is Soul Collage?

  A day or so ago, my daughter asked,  'what is Soul Collage?' ...  here's the elevator pitch: Soul Collage cards combine several images, usually from magazines and calendars, assembled and glued onto a card baking. We  usually   don't  include words on the cards, inviting messages from the image to inform us.  The size is usually either 5×7" or 5x8" - large enough for several images, small enough to work with easily.  When a card is finished, the creator uses several journal prompts to "meet" the cards, and to receive information and insights from the images we've chosen.  The cards represent different aspects of ourselves and of the community around us.  After making several cards, we can use them as we might any oracle deck, consulting or own inner wisdom.  We might draw one for daily inspiration We can choose several for 'readings.'  We can journal more when a card comes up.  We might name them, and often assign them t...

Strengths and Allies

 In this week's Creative Resilience class with Cindy Jacobs , the quality / trait explored is Courage.  In the 8 classes, we use our journals for insights, then move on to  Soul Collage and Mixed media to  craft cards.  Courage  (central image - Leah P Kolidas) My Courage Ally invites me to: Stand strong Stay grounded and do my daily practices Speak the truth Maintain vigilance  Bathe in the water of life Remember starlight Cindy included 'Wonder Woman' amongst a group of images we could print and use. One sister included WW on card, and spoke of her lariat of Truth, and Bracelets symbolizing freedom from shackles.  Wonder Woman first appeared in 1941, during WWII, and 'was originally depicted fighting the fascist/Axis forces and supervillains.'  Thank you WW, for your oh-so  Timely appearance!
