Coloring Books with Katy

  Last spring, with unexpected time available, our red thread SiStar Katy Atchison followed a dream, and began a series of illustrations for an adult coloring book!  Georgia - 9x12" - Katy Atchison   Her first book, Color in Bloom , features state birds and flowers! After completing the book, she used some of her illustrations as inspiration for small paintings (and takes commissions for your favorite state! Katy is an artist, author, and intentional creativity practitioner, blending mindfulness with visual storytelling.  With a background in painting and community-based art education, she believes creativity is a tool for healing and connection.  Katy has done 'silly illustrations' for years - and knew flowers would miss those - her second book is a compilation of favorites!  Squish - illustration - Katy Atchison Katy will offer our Red Thread Circle first presentor Thursday October 23!  She will walk attendees through the full self-publishing process...

What is Soul Collage?

  A day or so ago, my daughter asked,  'what is Soul Collage?' ...  here's the elevator pitch: Soul Collage cards combine several images, usually from magazines and calendars, assembled and glued onto a card baking. We  usually   don't  include words on the cards, inviting messages from the image to inform us.  The size is usually either 5×7" or 5x8" - large enough for several images, small enough to work with easily.  When a card is finished, the creator uses several journal prompts to "meet" the cards, and to receive information and insights from the images we've chosen.  The cards represent different aspects of ourselves and of the community around us.  After making several cards, we can use them as we might any oracle deck, consulting or own inner wisdom.  We might draw one for daily inspiration We can choose several for 'readings.'  We can journal more when a card comes up.  We might name them, and often assign them t...
